NCNA National Pyjama Day 2010 in aid of Make-a-Wish will be held on 26th March 2010. Registration is essential!

It's that time of year again when the NCNA is busy preparing for National Pyjama Day 2010, in order to make it even bigger and better than ever! I am delighted to inform you, that it is official; the 2010 NCNA National Pyjama Day will take place on Friday, 26th March 2010. Be sure to mark it in BIG BOLD WRITING on your wall charts for all to see and remind the children in your service!

This year all the monies raised will once again be donated to the very worthy Make-A-Wish Foundation. Since its inception in 1992, Make-A-Wish in Ireland has granted wishes for over 1000 brave children and realised their greatest wish and experienced the hope, strength and joy each wish provides. Make-A-Wish Foundation creates magic for the wish child and their family. Each wish granted creates an unforgettable memory for the whole family that will last for a lifetime. In the current climate, your support and inclusion is even more important than ever, remember every single cent counts!

In 2009, NCNA National Pyjama Day raised €340,000 for Make-A-Wish Foundation, which I'm sure you will all agree is an incredible amount! It is a testament to your support of this wonderful fund raising event. NCNA would like to extend its sincere gratitude to each and every one of you who helped to make it a hugely enjoyable day for all, as well as raising this fantastic amount for Make-A-Wish Foundation.

This year, the fabulous Miriam O' Callaghan has very kindly agreed to be our Ambassador for the event. NCNA National Pyjama Day 2010 will be launched in February with Caroline Harrington, wife of the now legendary golfer Padraig Harrington, so keep an eye on the papers in the following days for pictures of the launch.

For 2010 we have set ourselves a target to raise even more money. With your on-going support and inclusion, we are confident that we can make NCNA National Pyjama day the best yet.

How to take part in NCNA National Pyjama Day?

NCNA National Pyjama Day is an event that all Childcare Providers, children and staff can participate in.

You can raise funds on NCNA National Pyjama Day by doing the following:

1. Getting the staff and children in your service to get sponsorship from family and friends to wear their pyjamas on the day.
2. Asking all staff, children and parents to pay €2 to wear their pyjamas on the day.
3. Placing a donation box in your childcare service and accepting donations for this very worthy cause and fun-filled national event.
4. On 26th March, being part of the merriment and being the perfect role model by wearing your pyjamas to your childcare service on the day. The key message this year is children helping children and having fun!!!!
5. Enjoy the day!
